Anna Rankin
Executive Director
As Executive Director, Anna is responsible for all phases of Milestone programs and services. She has more than 20 years of experience working in human services and healthcare management, with expertise in the Intellectual Disability/Autism fields.
Anna has a BS in Health Care Administration and Master’s of Public Administration. She loves being outdoors and cherishes time with her family and friends.
Darryl Bergstrom
Director, Health Care Quality Unit Northwest
Darryl Bergstrom joined Milestone Health Care Quality Unit Northwest in 2002. Darryl oversees the day-to-day operations of the HCQU which includes working to support and improve the health information and knowledge for the intellectual disabilities community service system by enhancing the ability to serve those with disabilities within a nine-county region. Darryl is certified as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and a QPR (Question, Persuade & Refer) Suicide Prevention Instructor. He earned his master’s degree in business administration.
Karli Bowland, RN
Director of Nursing Services
Karli manages all nursing aspects of Milestone’s Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability programs. She is a graduate of Clarion University (B.S. in Rehabilitative Sciences), earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Community College of Allegheny County and her B.S. in Nursing from Capella University. Karli began her career with the Partners For Quality family of agencies as a Program Coordinator with Exceptional Adventures. Her clinical career started at AHN specializing in general cardiology and cardiovascular/thoracic surgery.
Yvette Carey
Senior Director of Residential Services
In her role overseeing all Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Community Living services, Yvette utilizes her passion for operational excellence, team development and creation of meaningful, person-centered outcomes. She holds a Master of Science in Management and Technology, providing a strong foundation in strategic planning, organizational leadership and data-informed decision-making. Yvette’s career is rooted in a deep commitment to service, equity and empowerment. Yvette is also a licensed Minister at Petra International Ministries.
Jennifer depanicis
Senior Director of Clinical Services
Jennifer oversees all Milestone Behavioral Health and outpatient services. Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor, having a National Certified Counselor certification with more than eight years of experience working as a therapist. She received her Bachelor of Human Services Management degree from the University of Phoenix in 2008.
Jennifer also received a Master of Arts in Community Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pittsburgh in 2016.
Sue Nagy
Senior Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance
Sue’s career in human services spans 25+ years working with adolescents and adults in behavioral health, intellectual disabilities, autism and forensic services. She earned her degrees in psychology and criminology from Indiana University of PA. Joining Milestone in 2024, Sue collaborates with all departments to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. She is responsible for developing and implementing measurable improvements in the quality, value and safety of services – along with developing and overseeing all agency policies, procedures and practices.
Bill Sparks
Senior Director of Community-Based Services
In his role, Bill prioritizes the health, happiness and safety of every individual supported by Milestone Community-Based services, always guided by their unique needs and interests. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, knowing that he wanted to focus his career energy to positively impact the lives of others. Prior to joining Milestone, Bill worked with a small team to launch CARES of Western PA. He and his wife, Michelle, have a daughter (Leah) and three dogs.
Jackie St. Jean
Director of Administration
As Director of Administration, Jackie oversees administrative operations and provides strategic support to ensure the effective delivery of Milestone’s programs and services. She brings extensive experience in executive-level support, organizational operations and process improvement within mission-driven environments. Jackie earned a degree in Social Work from Community College of Allegheny County. She is committed to supporting individuals, families and communities by building strong operational foundations that allow programs and teams to thrive.
Natalie Symons, RN
Director, Health Care Quality Unit West
With Milestone since 2002, Natalie manages the Milestone’s Health Care Quality Unit (HCQU) West. She is responsible for the oversight of the program, which includes development of curriculum, assisting providers who support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities that have complex medical and behavioral needs, and enhancing the ability to serve those with disabilities within a nine-county region. Natalie has been a Registered Nurse since 1996.
