Milestone’s Supportive Housing provides temporary, secure apartments and living spaces for individuals 18 and older with mental health and substance use disorders to help them pursue stable, productive independent lives.
Milestone Supportive Housing provides on-site mentors to support residents’ journey toward independent living. Our staff works closely with persons supported and their mental health service providers to identify and address barriers to housing independence, while enabling personal growth and stability.
All Milestone Supportive Housing locations are conveniently located on or near bus lines, retail stores, restaurants, pharmacies, churches, banks and more!
Individuals are welcome to participate in Milestone Supportive Housing when they meet this criteria:
- Referred to the housing program through Allegheny County Office of Behavioral Health/Department of Human Services.
- Eligible participants must have a primary diagnosis of serious mental illness (e.g., bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, major depressive disorder) and may have a co-occurring substance use disorder diagnosis.
- Individuals served in the Temporary Housing Program are typically people with a serious mental illness who have recently experienced a hospitalization or longer-term care and need support while they stabilize.
- Ability to self-medicate.
