Residential and Life Sharing Services

Community Living Arrangements

This service helps clients with intellectual or developmental disabilities find comfortable homes and compatible housemates in a neighborhood setting. Each group home provides 24-hour supervision and assistance by Residential Advisors who are trained in each individual’s behavioral and medical needs. The Resident Advisors assist clients with meal preparation, self-care and other skill development. The Community Living Arrangement service includes transportation to day program or work, or for leisure, healthcare, shopping and social activities.

Life sharing

In the Life Sharing service, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are matched with qualified, supportive families who open their homes to clients. Support may include transportation, self-care assistance and community integration. Families are compensated for their service and are required to receive annual training in topics such as first aid, CPR, fire safety, family dynamics, and infection control. They also are expected to be versed in Milestone policies and procedures related to Life Sharing.
